What the Bible Says About Sexual Immorality

This is a tricky topic to navigate mostly within the western church and society. The practice of homosexuality in the bible is called an abomination to God.

“Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is an abomination.” -Leviticus 18:22

Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis) had become so wicked that a roving band of men tried to molest two angels of God sent to warn Lot of the impending destruction of the cities.

The redefinition of homosexuality in the western world attempts to obfuscate the truth of God. This is done with the assertion that two people in a committed loving relationship is somehow different. So they play with the language and use the word ‘love’ to add legitimacy and add to the confusion. This is how deceit often works to oppose the truth of God.

LGBTQ+ represents most forms of sexual immorality whether homosexuality, bisexual, pansexual, polyamorous, or transgenderism. Anyone that won’t repent of this has no business in the church of Christ. Period. They are going 200 mph and heading over a cliff to their destruction.

So what to do? Firstly, never judge unbelievers. This is the will of God and won’t work to change their mind if you do. In fact, it creates an opportunity for the enemy to bring accusation against Christians.

“For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge? God judges those outside. “Purge the evil person from among you.” -1 Cor 5:12

The fundamental problem is that they do not love God. We know from scripture that says “God loves the world” and that is true.

“While we were sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).

So we know that God is not the problem. God also says “if you love me you will obey my commandments” (John 14).

What is the new law of love that Jesus commanded?

Love God and love your neighbor as yourself. This fulfills the law. Christian believers strive to obey God and repent when needed.

LGBTQ+ violates the first law to love God. They practice different forms of sexual immorality AND are unrepentant.

More fundamentally, the problem for all unbelievers is that they love something else. There is either hatred toward God, indifference toward God, or divided loyalties between the world and heaven. There are a lot of different reasons for why someone does not love God. Sometimes it can even be previous abuse, where they have trouble with faith. Nonetheless, we are all sinners and born with natural enmity toward God.

Romans 1:18-32 is another example of how hatred of God and truth is the problem.

Do not be deceived. It is all or nothing with God to make it to heaven. Defeating sin was not easy. It took the crucifixion of Jesus the son of God, your faith in him, and surrendering your life so that he is most important and at the center.

You are not being a friend to anyone when you accept, support, or encourage a lifestyle that destroys their soul. You should not judge them either!

“But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” -Rev 21:8

Do not forsake the truth for anyone. At the same time do not judge. Lead with love and calmness without the drama. Do not cast your pearls before swine either (Matthew 7:6) meaning do not take the bait and waste time convincing someone that only wants to have a confrontation. You have more important things to do.

Peace and Love.

The Source of Anxiety and Weariness

You can learn a lot about animal behavior on the nature channel such as wolves, lions, and goats. Take the wolf for example, they impose a highly structured social order within the pack where everyone has a position and role. Not unlike how government, business, and nations organize themselves. The wolf is smart, cunning, vicious, and relentless. They will chase young, old, and sick deer for example until the deer becomes exhausted (worn out). So the first strategy is picking the right target, separating it from the group, and then running it down.

Jesus often referred to particular animal when explaining how evil works. The book of revelation prophecies a coming one-world government as a beast kingdom represented by four distinct animals.

The prophet Daniel spoke of end times persecution as well:

“He (antichrist) will speak words against the Most High God and wear down (oppress) the saints of the Most High, and he will intend to change the times and the law; and they will be given into his hand for a time, times and half a time (3.5 years).” – Daniel 7:25

My point is that this is a tactic of the devil to wear you down each day, after day, after day. The enemy starts with attacking your mind like a swarm of flies. Then the enemy will use anyone around you that he can take captive to do his will. It could be words, negative attitude, deceit, fear, mental illness, or bullying for example.

So you have to learn how to rest and practice spiritual warfare since you are told the source of your battle is spiritual. Form new habits so that you spend much less time with negative stuff such as news, online videos, wrong kind of music, movies and other things, It really works and you will be happier. Run from shows with sex and violence since they are corrupting.

Fellowship with the right Christians that obey and live the Law of Love.

Listen to and read the bible for faith, revelation truth, spiritual rest, and guidance. The word of God will align and transform your mind each day. “The sword of the spirit is the word of God.” – Eph 6:17

Learn how deception from the enemy works to lead you astray and destroy your life.

False Doctrine: How to Know the Truth

There is nothing more important than knowing the truth. For example, say you are traveling somewhere with your family, and you arrive at a fork in the road. There is a man there that seems trustworthy. He speaks to you with kindness and concern, telling you that you must stay left since there have been reports of a band of marauders attacking and killing people on the other road. He tells you to stay left, calls you friend, and assures you all will be fine. The problem is you were just deceived, and in fact there is a killer waiting to ambush you on the road going left.

Jesus warns us in Matthew 24 and emphasized how deception would be rampant in this time where we are now.

Lies have the power to destroy you if you believe them, and live your life based on the lies. So the question as a Christian is how do you know if what you are being taught is 100% the truth? You should not believe half-truths either since they are designed to lead you astray and even more difficult to discern.

Christianity without relationship is religion. Start with loving the truth from your heart and wanting to know the truth. God knows if you love the truth. How do you know what truth is and what is sound doctrine?

The most important point is going to a reliable source. Sometimes others are really telling you what they think and believe. Without learning to read scripture for yourself you won’t ever know. The holy spirit is the real teacher. But before all that, you must have relationship with God through Jesus.

“All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. -John 14:25

So start with praying for proper discernment, revelation and truth so you are not deceived. God is relational and wants to speak to you. Without relationship you cannot discern what is truth and thereby reject false teaching.

Let God also lead you to reliable sources and warn of false teachers. We all start with listening to pastors whether it is the Christian channel or a local church. My strong recommendation is to start with prominent online pastors such as Joseph Prince, Perry Stone, and Baruch Korman for best results.

Learn to listen to the holy spirit for knowledge and understanding. Meditate as you read and verify if what is being said aligns with the word of God. Read several chapters before a quoted scripture and several chapters after to get CONTEXT. Extremely important to do your truth check. Context is crucial to interpreting scripture correctly and knowing the truth. The bible interprets itself.

For example, someone tells you a Christian has already repented and done with sin since they are now a believer. The problem is if you read in book of revelation where Jesus tells the churches to repent then that does not add up. The truth is Christians will repent after being saved. Paul talks about the struggles with sin in Romans 7. So read all of the new testament yourself and you will be prepared to question false doctrine.

Another false doctrine is if someone tells you the poor go to heaven since Jesus mentions that in the beatitudes. You cannot be a blessing to others when afflicted with poverty. If you are saved by grace alone then your bank account is irrelevant. Are there not poor people that are evil and unrepentant?

Another false doctrine is that salvation is based in part on your efforts concerning works of the law. Salvation cannot be earned since it is a free gift (Ephesians 2:8). The work of salvation has already been done at the cross, so your efforts have no effect. Your part is to firstly believe that, and then strive to live a life of faith and obedience.

You are called to faith and not the law. Your salvation does not give you a license to sin. In fact, as a believer you will resist sin whereas before you did not care. So believe in the salvation you have, repent when you need to, and trust in the Lord. Keep it simple. Jesus Christ and him crucified is the love of God. Often the stumbling block for Christians is believing in their heart that Jesus really loves them and wants a relationship with them as an individual.
